Privacy policy

This Privacy policy explains how Pouchhut collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information when you use pouchhut.co.nz or place an order. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

Order and contact details: your name, delivery address, email address and phone number, and your order history.
Payment details: we accept bank transfer only, so we see the payer name, account details and reference that your bank attaches to a transfer. We never see or store card numbers.
Age confirmation: your confirmation that you are 18 or older, and any proof of age we ask for before dispatch.
Support correspondence: emails and contact-form messages you send us.
Technical data: device, browser, IP address and how you use the site, collected through cookies and analytics.

How we use it

To process, dispatch and deliver your order, and to confirm your payment.
To send you order emails: confirmation, payment instructions and reminders, dispatch and tracking.
To answer your questions and resolve delivery or product problems.
To verify age and prevent fraud or misuse of the site.
To improve the website and our product range.

We do not send marketing email unless you have expressly opted in, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

Who we share it with

Our overseas fulfilment warehouse and couriers: your name, delivery address, phone number and order contents are sent to the warehouse that packs your order and to the international and New Zealand couriers that deliver it. This means your delivery details are disclosed outside New Zealand for the purpose of delivering your order.
Border agencies: shipment details (consignee name, address and contents) are included on the customs declaration that accompanies every international parcel.
Shopify: our store platform, which hosts the website and stores order data. Shopify's own privacy policy is at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
Email and analytics providers that send our order emails and help us understand site usage.
Where the law requires it, such as a lawful request from a New Zealand government agency.

We do not sell personal information.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your age confirmation and preferences, and understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may then not work.

Storage and security

Order data is stored on Shopify's secure infrastructure. We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil orders, handle returns and meet our legal and accounting obligations, then delete or de-identify them.

Children

This site is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email support@pouchhut.co.nz; we will respond within 20 working days as the Privacy Act requires. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
